The Patient Panel is a group acting as a communication system between Newbury and District Clinical Commissioning Group, together with member groups and the Patient Information Point.

The Panel liaises with the eleven Patient Participation Groups who interact with their GPs to ensure that local practices address the needs of their communities.

Each of the practices are represented on the Patient Panel, enabling their views to be communicated to others and to the CCG.

The CCG is represented at all meetings by a lay member together with Kamal Bahia, Practice Manager at Burdwood Surgery, who is the co-ordinator between CCG, Patient Panel and the GP practices.

The Patient Panel works with the CCG to provide and receive feedback on the quality of local NHS services and when necessary highlights areas requiring extra attention.

The Panel also works together with The Patient Information Point (PIP) located at West Berkshire Community Hospital. PIP provides useful information and sign-posting to support patients, carers and their families.

Our aim is to have an actively involved community to ensure access to high quality information and services.
