Cathy graduated from Manchester University with a nursing degree and spent most of her nursing career as a district nurse.
She went on to manage community nursing teams and community hospitals, eventually becoming Director of Nursing in a Community Trust.
When Primary Care Groups (PCGs) were established, Cathy became Chief Executive of a PCG.
She also worked part time on a PhD during this period, examining clinical decision making in district nursing.
With the advent of PCTs in 2002, Cathy moved into the commissioning function and became Director of Commissioning in PCTs in North Hampshire and then in Berkshire West.
Cathy is now the Chief Officer for the Berkshire West CCG Federation.
Cathy lives in North Hampshire and has two daughters. She enjoys reading, walking, travel, eating out and visiting her beach hut, weather permitting!
